Licensing and billing FAQ

Short answers about keys, computers, and subscriptions.

Where's my key?

In the FastSpring order confirmation email sent to the address on your Adobe account. Check spam, and search for FastSpring.

How many computers can I use?

One active server seat per license. A Move or Release costs one transfer in 1.0.0. The default balance is 3, refilling by 1 every 30 days up to 3; Settings → License shows the server's balance and next refill date.

Why does reinstalling ask me to move my license?

Plug-in storage can be removed during uninstall, changing the random installation ID. Matching computer details allow one free same-computer re-activation per license per rolling 30 days. Beyond that allowance, or if the details do not match, Move uses one transfer. Do not Release first. If no transfers remain, wait for the refill shown in License or contact support with your purchase reference and key's last four characters. Never send your full key or secure storage. See activation and reinstall recovery.

I replaced my computer and can't release the old one.

Use Move on the new computer. It releases the old one without touching it.

Can I share my key with my team?

No. Each workstation needs its own subscription. Shared or published keys are blocked under the EULA.

How do I cancel?

Use View/Edit Subscription in your FastSpring order email. Uninstalling doesn't cancel. Chromalith keeps working until the end of the period you paid for.

How do refunds work?

Adobe and FastSpring process refunds for Adobe Exchange purchases under Adobe's terms. Contact us if you're not sure where to start.

What data does licensing collect?

Your key, a random installation ID, operating system name and version, processor architecture and model, logical core count, memory rounded to the nearest GB, and plug-in version. Keys and installation IDs are stored as one-way hashes. Core count and rounded memory are used only to recognize the same computer. No artwork, home-directory path or machine hash is sent in 1.0.0. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
