Print Limit Test
Print one target, record which samples survived, and turn the result into a device profile for your exact setup.
The Print Limit Test is a free web tool at chromalith.com/print-limit-test. It measures print detail, not color.
- Choose the version matching what you print on. Dark garment (light ink, transparent background) is recommended for DTF/DTG on dark garments. Use Light substrate or paper (dark ink) for light substrates and paper proofs. Each target has unique scale references and an ID; download SVG or a transparent 600 DPI PNG.
- Print at 100% / Actual Size, never fit. Paper proofs: Letter or A4. DTF gang sheets: place the 190 × 260 mm target at 100%. Print services: upload at 100% and confirm the editor reports 600 DPI.
- Confirm the version and scale. Enter the Target ID, confirm Which version did you print?, and measure D1/D2 with a ruler before reading any ladder. An older target that you inverted can be recorded as dark garment. Measure the horizontal and vertical references from D1 center to the end caps, and the diagonal from D1 center to D2 center.
- Record detail. For each labeled sample, mark it complete and clearly visible, or broken, filled in, or missing.
- Download the result and keep the Entry Confirmation ID. You need it to recall or edit the entry.
- In Chromalith, select Import completed result under Print Limit Test on the Settings tab. Open Print Limit Test opens the web tool. The result becomes a profile labeled Your test, with Measured on: dark garment, light substrate, or unknown for older results. Opposite printed versions are not pooled in comparisons or community profiles.
The web test stores no account, address, location, IP address, or free-form notes. Result history inside Chromalith stays in the plug-in's local data folder.
